About the Item

PLEASE VISIT LAUREN STANLEY IN NEW YORK BERKSHIRE SPRING - a fine one-of-a-kind contemporary sterling silver hand wrought coffee or tea service with cloisonne lids on a Bubinga (Brazilian Rosewood) tray with sterling silver legs by Maureen and Michael Banner of Massachusetts. The pot (holds 5-6 cups liquid) is 17 inches high with tray. The silver is 16 and 18 gauge hand formed - hammered - by Michael Banner - like all the Banners' silver work. The enamels have hand cut cloissone and are designed and executed by Maureen Banner. The handle spacer is a heat sink with a long tang going into the upper and lower part of the handle for strength, and it has the added benefit of being a limit to the danger of getting caught in the buffing wheels. Marked as illustrated in photo. In pristine condition. Tea or coffee pots are also functional, sculptural as they are. Balance is key to the design.
