Georg Jensen Sterling Silver “Cosmos” Coffee Pot
About the Item
An extra-large sterling silver Georg Jensen coffee pot with ebony handles, design #45c by Johan Rohde from circa 1915. This design is often referred to as the “Cosmos” design. An art nouveau design that required a enormous amount of fabrication hours. The base a hand chased linear design. The large hand hammered body with hand chased lid. The hand carved ebony handle with the same linear design as top and base.

- Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Rare 4-Piece Tea & Coffee Set in Pattern 71By Georg JensenLocated in New York, NYRare Georg Jensen, sterling silver 4-piece tea and coffee set, all beautifully hand hammered, with exquisite natural motifs and elegant proportions, designed by Georg Jensen circa 1910/1920, consisting of: - a coffee pot, measuring 10 3/4'' in height with the lid by 10 3/8'' from handle to spout, with a dark wood handle - a tea pot, measuring 9 3/4'' in height with the lid by 8 3/4'' from handle to spout, with a dark wood handle - a creamer, measuring 4 7/8'' in height by 8 1/8'' from handle to spout - a two-handled sugar bowl, measuring 3 3/8'' in height by 7'' from handle to handle Total weight is 79.2 troy ounces, and each bear hallmarks and pattern numbers (three of the pieces are in pattern 71B, the creamer is in pattern 177) as shown. The creamer is from 1925 to 1932 while other pieces are from circa 1945 to 1952, which places the set towards the beginning of the Georg Jensen silversmithing enterprise.
