Japanese Contemporary Gilded Blue Red Ko-Imari Short Stem Porcelain Mug Cup

About the Item

Stunning contemporary Japanese Ko-Imari style short stem porcelain mug cup, intricately hand painted on a gracefully shaped body in cobalt blue, red and green and generous application of gold on a pure white porcelain, characteristic of Ko-Imari style. It is produced in a well respected kiln in the Imari-Kutani region of Japan and has a history of over a century of producing fine porcelain pieces honoring the traditional techniques and patterns. The attractive cartouches on this striking porcelain vase, with flower patterns contrast the chrysanthemums on a vertigo background, to create a stunning piece. Chrysanthemums are said to be the emblems of emperors. They come in different shapes, colors and fragrances. The gold handle in an elegant shape and the stunning shape of the cup with its short graceful stem make it a memorable piece. A delightful gift! It comes in an elegant custom-made gift box.
