Large New York Classical Coin Silver Teapot by William Thomson, 1833

About the Item

Large Classical coin silver teapot. Made by William Thomson in New York in 1833. Bellied bowl on stepped and raised foot; cover hinged and domed with flower-basket finial. Leaf-capped high-looping s-scroll handle; spout same and flower-wrapped. Cast leaf and flower rims. Engraved interlaced script monogram. Capacious with visible handwork on interior. Marks include maker’s stamp, year, and phrase “Old Silver”. Weight: 32.5 troy ounces.
