Crafted entirely by hand of mouth-blown transparent glass, this elegant teapot boasts a striking texture of parallel lines that run vertically on its curvaceous body, accentuating its sinuous shape. Comprising also a small spout and a handle, this piece is topped with a small lid decorated with a ferrule with a gold finish, whose shape evokes Chinese architecture. A charming addition to both a classic and a contemporary home, this pot makes about six to eight cups of tea.

A relatively unknown niche of Chinese porcelain from ca 1680-1740 that was partly decorated in Europe. Because mainstream Chinese collectors have yet to discover the historical significance of these wares they are relatively easy to find in Holland. Amsterdams Bont is a name given to porcelain partly decorated in the Netherlands (most likely in cities like Delft, Haarlem, Makkum).
