A fine figural tea strainer. In sterling silver. By Simons Bros. of Philadelphia, PA. In the form of a teapot with a chain & spout ring attached to the top handle. Fully marked to the base. Simply a wonderful antique tea strainer! Date: Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is a light crease to the foot, a few light indentions here & there, some light edge wear, some persistent green tarnish at 2 joints, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Marked to the foot with a maker's mark / Sterling / 2207 / PAT. JUL 20.09 Fineness: Marked Sterling for silver fineness. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian Dutch sterling silver bachelor teapot; an addition to our silver teaware collection This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver bachelor teapot has a circular cushion shaped form onto four feet. The surface of the teapot is embellished with chased, large interlacing leaf motifs on a textured background; the leaf designs eminate from a plain starburst motif to the underside.
