Italian Cabbage Ware Soup Tureen with Vegetable Motif Lid and Serving Ladle
About the Item
An unusual Ceramic cabbage ware or lettuce ware soup tureen with matching lid and ladle. This oval serving dish is glazed in a creamy white and features a texture that resembles the leaves of lettuce or cabbage. The matching lid is also in a creamy white with texture and has a small notch for the ladle to rest. On the top of the lid, are applied ceramic vegetables which function as a handle for removing the lid. The vegetables are in a small bunch and include tomatoes, garlic, and peppers surrounded by green majolia leaves. Both sides of the base feature green pickles which function as handles for carrying the piece. They are glazed in a light green and have a bumpy texture as pickles do. The green ladle is stunning and in a rich and vibrant green. It has a curved handle and texture that resembles veining on cabbage. The bottom of the dish is stamped in black with "Italy". This would be a fabulous way to serve guests at your next gathering.
