18th Century Rococo German Painted and Gilt Wine Cooler in the Form of a Swan
About the Item
Extraordinary wine-cooler in the form of a beautifully sculpted, gilt and polychromed Swan of impressive stature, makes certainly the conversation-piece of the party. The white painted swan's body set into a gilt base with a decorative open carved frieze, standing on four bold cabriole legs ending in paw-feet , the back of the swan's body removable and revealing a tin-lined basin that can be filled with ice to hold several wine bottles.
