A Large Chinese Han Dynasty Black Pottery Amphora
About the Item
The bulbous body features two pair of raised spiral decorations terminating in a protruding nipple on each side. A pair of curvaceous handles rise from either side of the body terminating at the everted mouth. Three lines of incised decoration decorate the neck just below the mouth.
Areas of mineralized encrustation from burial.
