Micki Schloessingk Salt Glazed Studio Pottery Lidded Vessel
About the Item
A fine vintage British studio pottery lidded vessel by renowned potter Micki Schloessingk (b. 1949) and made in Swansea, Wales. The stoneware vessel is of tall slightly graduated cylindrical shape with a flat top round cover and is decorated in brown tenmoku glazes with a salt glazed finish. The cover has a hand incised wheel pattern applied to the top and the glazed patterning is applied in a horizontal linear design around the body. The inner cover is unglazed as is the inner raised top edge of the base with a brown salt glazed finish to the inner base. The vessel has an unglazed base with a clear impressed M makers mark applied to the lower edge.
Provenance: Acquired in the UK Art Market.
In good condition with light wear associated with age and use.
