Micki Schloessingk Studio Pottery Yunomi, 20th Century
About the Item
A fine vintage British studio pottery yunomi (teacup) by renowned potter Micki Schloessingk (b. 1949) and made in Swansea, Wales. The stoneware yunomi is of rounded cylindrical shape decorated in metallic blue and green glazes over a stone ground with a salt glazed finish standing on a narrow rounded foot. The yunomi has an impressed makers mark to the foot.
Provenance: The Ann Horlock Stringer Collection. Ann was married to Harry Horlock-Stringer (1927-2014), a potter, and both were passionate about studio pottery. Much of their collection was purchased from friends and also from the Craftsman Potters' Association ship, exhibitions and galleries.
