ODK Norwegian Unusual Large Brutalist Lidded Studio Pottery Vessel
About the Item
A large and stylish unusual Norwegian brutalist studio pottery lidded vessel in the form of a tea or water pot with makers marks ODK to the base and believed to date from the mid-20th Century or earlier. Similar in style to the work the Arnold Wiigs Fabriker the pot is made in a heavy textured stoneware with a roughcast natural blackened finish. The vessel is of wide squat round shape standing on a flat narrow round base. The vessel has a short narrow pouring spout and a graduated flat looped handle with attaches to the narrow funnel shaped neck with a fitted lift out hat shaped cover. A small further loop side handle is attached to one side. The vessel has impressed marks ODK NORWAY to the base and have been unable to identify the maker and expect it was made at a smaller studio pottery.
