About the Item
Antique Martha's Vineyard Baldpate Drake Decoy, circa 1900, a hand carved and hand painted gunning decoy by an unknown maker on Martha's Vineyard of an American Wigeon in colorful original paint. This decoy was out of the Hancock collection, and is a rig mate to one illustrated in Stanley's book on the Decoys of Martha's Vineyard.
The worn original paint is in dry, stable condition, and the decoy remains structurally sound.
