About the Item

A modernist backgammon set by US-born, Mexico-based designer Don Shoemaker for his company Señal. This portable set includes the game board, which folds up into a carrying case, checkers, rolling dice, doubling dice and leather cups. Made from local hardwood trees, the points of the game board are formed by marquetry inlays. A removable rosewood handle slides into the grooves of the closed game board and fastens with a pin to secure the carrying case. CITES Notice: Due to stringent regulations on the export of rosewood products enacted in 2017 this piece is unavailable for international shipment. Dimensions 16.5” width x 12.5” depth x 3” height. Condition Good vintage condition; professionally cleaned and polished. Retains all original pieces for gameplay.
