Early 20th Century Shaker Sewing Basket from the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village in New Gloucester, Maine. An early oval band box made from split poplar with four finger laps and copper rivet fastenings, swing handle and original silk liner and fittings. The caddy is in excellent condition; the powder blue silk interior is faded in spots, but wonderful to see with the range of accoutrements still present and attached. Measures: 3-1/4 in H x 9-3/16 in L x 6-3/16 in W.
