Folk Art Wooden Hand Carved and Painted WW2 Lancaster Bomber Model Airplane

About the Item

This handcrafted Folk Art model of a Lancaster Bomber is signed on the base, but the artist could not be identified so is posted as Unknown. This wooden airplane model was presumably made in Canada in approximately 1975 or later and is hand carved and painted from wood with a firm curved wire which suspends it from the base in various positions. This fairly large model is somewhat naive in several areas with respect to its execution, which simply adds to its Folk Art appeal. The plane's base is clearly marked on the top identifying it as an Avro-Lancaster and is signed by the artist on the bottom of the wooden base.
