Andrianna Shamaris Papua Orchard Skirt Made From Orchard Bark

About the Item

Antique skirt from Papua. Hand made from multiple lengths of yellow, brown, maroon and tan orchard bark. Set on a modern steel base. So beautiful. This Papua skirt was sourced in the spirit of wabi-sabi, a Japanese philosophy that beauty can be found in imperfection and impermanence. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. A beauty of things unconventional. It is the opposite of vulgarity. The costs of achieving this kind of minimalism are seemingly inconsistent with its mission of aesthetic humility. This kind of luxury is for a select few: The Emperor of Japan had a wabi garden. Wabi is for people who already have a lot. Andrianna Shamaris. The Leader In Modern Organic Design.

Rowland Folger (1803-1883) is considered one of Nantucket's first makers of lightship baskets. His baskets are very durable and were definitely used as utilitarian. These three baskets were discovered in an attic, where they were living for the last 90 years...
