About the Item
Great, very rare serpentine top cherry and tiger maple tavern table. Small size, with boldly overhanging scrolled and chamfered pegged cherry top, in dark, nutty natural surface. Tiger maple base, with beaded legs, pegged to deep, beaded apron, in early, dry black paint, over the original red stain. Excellent, all original, untouched surfaces (an early leather "shim" added to bottom of one leg, to level table, at floor). These shaped top designs were created only in the central CT River Valley, MASS.
