Large Antique Captain Figure
About the Item
This Statue is a spectacular example of Victorian era folk Art. originally shipped from England to New York 30 years ago, this ships captain stands stoic and proud. A sexton is in his hand, not part of the carving but dangles loose in his hands. Carved from a solid piece of hardwood. There is a hand forged iron spike in the back, I can only guess it was used to secure and attach the piece in order to keep it in place. An authentic piece of English fork art this is an unusual and rare find. Please see pictures and feel free to reach out with any questions on the one of kind antique.
