Large medieval Henry VII/Henry VIII Tudor oak ceiling boss, English, circa 1485-1530. Boldly carved from the solid in three distinctive tiers as a Tudor rose with five petal seeded centre. With traces of original polychrome and gilt painted decoration. The polychrome ground can still be seen on the Boss. It retains part of the original peg fixings to the rear and original Masons marks.
