About the Item

A collection of seven vintage clear and colored automobile headlight glass Insert plates mounted on stands. We believe these were made for a number of different model A era vehicles. Of the 1930’s period American Art Deco style. These were used on vintage cars of the era with classic headlamps. Most of the plates are of a similar size, with one being noticeably smaller. The height of the pieces vary depending on the height of the stands. This collection reflects the stylistic tendencies of manufacturers working within the early period where headlights were mandated to be circular (which ended in the 1980’s). Information we have on these lenses as follows: Three “Warner” lenses (circa 1910-1920), one green headlight (circa 1910-1920), one “Queen Lens” (circa 1910-1920), and a “Moore light” lens (circa 1910-1920), and one “Halophone” lens (circa 1910-1920). These names indicate the manufacturer's particular style for the Model A car. In good condition. A few plates have some gentle wear consistent with age and use. With the black iron stands these have been repurposed as handsome sculptural curiosities. They would make a great feature in any arrangement in a living room as a striking centerpiece. Measurements (stands vary slightly in height): Width: 9" / 22.86 cm Depth: 3" / 20.32 cm Height: 13" / 33.02 cm
