Large Antique Early American Banner Weathervane

About the Item

A large and remarkable 4' long early PA American scrollwork bannerette weathervane / wind directional. Pennsylvania, first half of the 19th century, cut sheet metal, copper tubing, cast zinc arrowhead, in old gilt gold painted surface, on a later wooden display stand. Dimensions: (approx) 17.25" High, 48" Wide, 6.25" Deep This large-scale sculptural architectural salvaged ornament has outstanding visual appeal and has survived in relatively good condition, especially considering its age. Beautifully aged heavily worn weathered distressed patina. Structurally sound, stable, attractive appearance, with remnants of gold paint remaining, chippy paint losses, dings, seem separation, bending, minor losses, all wear consistent with age, use and exposure.
