1950s Stilnovo Style Multi-Color Opaline Glass One-Light Pendant Lamps. A pair.
About the Item
A charming pair of one-light multi-color glass ceiling lamps. Their elegant profile is characteristic of 1950s Italian design lamps and refers to Stilnovo style.
The twin lamps, with the same size and shape, are in cased white opaline matte Murano glass with multicolored lines. The structures are in brass.
About the cased glass:
In Venice, the blown in the initial stage is immersed in a crucible of a different color (in this case the same white) and then dilated, thus making the glass thinner.
This technique is still used today to opacify a transparent colored glass with an opaque white glass inside.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Both glass shades are in good condition, showing some minor nicks from use on the edges at the top that can be seen at a close look. There are no cracks affecting the glass. The brass parts show patina compatible with age.
