Stunning, eight-light, white & black alabaster chandelier with gilt bronze arms. If you are looking for a truly stylish, well proportioned and top quality made antique chandelier then this work of lighting art from the earliest years of the 1900s could be perfect for you. The overal design, the quality of the details, the rich materials and also its very good condition make this a wonderful piece to come home to and it will light up both your days and evenings like no modern day fixture ever could. The design of the large alabaster shade is unlike anything we ever saw for it is both wide and deep and it also curves inside and out so that a perfect angle is created to attach the gilt bronze arms. However what makes it even more special is the combination of the beautiful white of the alabaster combined with a good number of evenly spread, thunderstroke-like black veins which contrast even more when the light is switched on. Also, because the dark veins then turn pitch black against a lunar-like background and that contrast truly is amazing to look at. As you can see in our images, there also are a number of white and near translucent veins and patches that make this creation-of-mother-nature-pendant even more fascinating. We have said it before and we will say it again here, but the (atmospheric) light and these unique patterns that come out when the light is switched on are unlike anything you will have ever seen and they simply cannot be caught in a photo. Many of our interior designer clients now know and it is why they keep coming back for these majestic antique light fixtures. Have you also noticed the large, unique, very stylish and mint condition alabaster canopy? It is adjustable in height and thanks to the hook inside, safely mounting this chandelier tight to your ceiling (and over your junction box) is easy as well. To us, the mint and solid brass chain is the perfect replacement and even enhances the richness of this one of a kind chandelier. The six gilt bronze arms are like floral torches and each holds a faux candle with a socket inside and with the two larger sockets inside the deep alabaster shade this impressive chandelier will easily produce enough light for every occasion. We have not yet completely rewired it, because we first want to know where this light will be going to before doing all the electrical work. For our US clients we will place a regular American E12 socket in every bronze candle holder (with new candle covers over them). However, when it stays here in Europe then we would obviously have to wire it differently. Two hairlines in the shade have been reinforced which is why it is again as strong, structurally sound and reliable as it was when it left the artisan's studio over 100 years ago. Because of its stylish, serene and timeless design this chandelier will look great in all kinds of interiors and in a variety of rooms. Height without the chain & canopy, but with the candle covers: 11 inches. Diameter x height of the large and deep alabaster shade alone: 18 x 7.5 inches. Thanks to the mint brass chain we (or you) can easily adjust the height as well.
