About the Item

Small & brilliant Venetian pendant. Perfect amber glass in a forged wrought iron frame. This adorable and antique Venetian pendant light is one of the smallest of its kind that we ever had the pleasure of offering. When it comes to condition, style and true workmanship this small size light is right up there with the best we have ever seen or sold. The glass is in perfect condition (no scratches, chips or cracks) and the original and all hand forged frame with its tiny curls and swirls is a work of blacksmithing art by itself. It must have taken a skilled artisan at least several days to first draw this design on paper and then cut, hammer and forge all the individual pieces together. The originally guilded iron canopy is all handcrafted too and it too is superb condition. Over the many decades the guilding on the canopy has worn off and that has created a marvelous patina. This is a unique coloring through natural aging of iron (and other metals as well) and its true beauty cannot be copied. To give you an idea of its smaller than normal size we added image 7 in which you can see it next to a normal and a large size specimen. This small yet stylish antique light is rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well and thanks to the original Murano chain shackles the height (or drop) can easily be adjusted.
