About the Item

- An incredibly rare Holophane Pagoda ceiling pendant, English circa 1920. - The rectangular brass cage houses five individual sections of triangular pagoda glass which are all stamped 'Holophane No. 4516'. - Pristinely presented, the lantern emits a wonderful warm glow, they are heavy pieces of incredible quality, a scarce example. - The pagoda pendant is also available with matching flush mounted ceiling lanterns which can also be seen in the photographs and are listed separately. - The lantern comes with its original ceiling chain and four arm rose, rewired and PAT tested, ready to hang. - Total height including ceiling rose, chain and lantern 138cm, Height of lantern 51cm, Width 27cm, Depth 27cm. Holophane Originally founded in 1896 the hallmark of Holophane luminaires was the borosilicate glass reflector, which acted as a prism providing a combination of uplight and downlight, to illuminate any environment evenly without creating dark spots or glare. As a result Holophane lights were frequently used in churches, as street-lights and to illuminate older factories and industrial spaces.
