Antique Vintage Industrial Original French Caged Holophane Ceiling Pendant Light
About the Item
- A wonderful and rare petite caged Holophane pendant, France circa 1920.
- The pendant consists of two small Holophane stamped prismatic glass shades which are held together by a circular brass ring heavily patinated. A decorative gallery with adjustable bulb holder sits across the upper section and with its original chain.
- Rewired in braided flex and PAT tested.
Holophane Originally founded in 1896 the hallmark of Holophane luminaires was the borosilicate glass reflector, which acted as a prism providing a combination of uplight and downlight, to illuminate any environment evenly without creating dark spots or glare. As a result Holophane lights were frequently used in churches, as street-lights and to illuminate older factories and Industrial spaces.
