Colorful Swedish Cased Glass Three Globe Pendants

Vintage 3 globe pendant circa 1960 consisting of a brass plated flush mounted ceiling plate with three arms from which the wires and glass globes are suspended. There is a walnut torpedo shaped finial on top of each globe. We can adjust the length and even stagger the height of each globe. We can even change the color of the wire. The Swedish made glass globes are large glossy cased glass in the case of the yellow and reddish orange and white satin glass and were designed by the brothers Uno & Östen Kristiansson for Luxus, Sweden. We have a total of three of these pendants plus one extra yellow and one extra orange-ish red globe. The globes are nearly 11 inches tall, 11 inches diameter and the opening at the bottom is 3-1/2 inches. The armature is a 6 inch diameter canopy with three arms that extend six inches horizontally. The globes are suspended with the cord that can be at whatever height you choose. If all three globes were together at the same height the total diameter would be ~24 inches. Probably produced by Lightolier or Prescolite.who sourced the glass in Sweden. Luxus was founded in 1950 by Uno Kristiansson. At that time, the range consisted of home and interior lamps, furniture and mirrors. The products were designed by the two brothers Uno and Östen Kristiansson. In 1966, the furniture design became incorporated into Östen Kristiansson AB (Okabe), when he took over his father's business Vittsjö Furniture, established in 1919. During the 1950's collections were launched in Sweden and internationally. Examples are the textile lamp shade Texolux, and the ceiling lamp Plafo in acrylic with a wooden cross which was added with variations. In 1968, Luxus presented collections in bright colours and textile designed by Marjatta Metso Vaara. From the 1970s, activities focused on the development of lighting in acrylic for public environments. Lamp series like Arkitektura, Candus, Skulptura, Discus, Pinus and Rustikus were designed for this purpose. The experience and developments made by the company has always been a part of the design process and the manufacture of lighting. - DECOPEDIA
