About the Item

A most elegant and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Crystal and Ormolu chandelier. This exquisite nine arm nine light chandelier is centered by a Crystal sphere bottom finial accented by smaller scale spheres and rosette cut pendants. The bottom finial hangs from a topie shaped Ormolu mount below the Crystal bowl. The frosted Crystal bowl above is decorated with clear patterned sections and has an arbalest style movement along the upper rim. The wonderful Crystal bowl is fitted with an Ormolu band just below the upper rim which presents the three sets of three scrolling arms. Each set of three scrolling arms are decorated with beaded and scrolling foliate patterns while displaying an array of tear drop and prism cut Crystals hanging below each bobeche. The top crown is adorned with a topie shaped bottom finial below the lily pad shaped downward curving frosted Crystal crown which also has clear sections of linear and clover designs. *Shades, Canopies and Chain shown for display purposes, sold separately.

A magnificent and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu and cut Glass chandelier. This exquisite twelve arm twelve light chandelier is centered by a glass prism cut bottom finial hanging below a glass rosette and an array of berried foliate Ormolu decorations. The central fut above is decorated by acanthus leaves, beaded bands, weaving pattern bands, cherub busts, acorn ornaments, pierced foliate designs, hanging garments, and rosette pendants. Emerging from the collage of decorations on the body of the fut are the twelve 'C' scrolled foliate decorated arms. Each arm displays a tear drop glass central reserve and a group of scallop and tear drop cut glass pendants hanging below the foliate designed candle cups.
