French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Ormolu and Alabaster Twelve-Light Chandelier
About the Item
A most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and alabaster twelve light chandelier. The chandelier has a bottom reeded cream colored alabaster dome with a central ormolu finial. The dome is held by a central band with foliate scrolls and berried laurel branches and dragon like figures. The pierced band is decorated by four winged cherubs with two 'C" scrolled electrified arms with chased acanthus leaves and leading to the circular candle cup and saucer. Above each winged cherub are ormolu link chain leading to the top ormolu canopy, with an upside down foliate spray. All original gilt.
