French 19th Century Louis XV Style Ormolu Twelve-Light Chandelier
About the Item
A stunning French 19th century Louis XV st. ormolu twelve light chandelier. The chandelier is centered by a striking inverted bottom acorn finial below four richly chased dolphins. Branching out from the beautiful central cage are the twelve arms spread over two tiers, each adorned with large fine acanthus leaves, swaging floral garlands and foliate candle cups. The superb central fut displays a most decorative lightly spiraled design with elegant foliate movements leading up the the richly chased scrolled pierced top crown.
