About the Item
A lovely and most whimsical Italian Turn of the Century Louis XVI st. Pressed Metal, Tole, and Patinated wood chandelier. This most decorative ten light chandelier is centered by a topie shaped bottom finial with a dentil pattern. The finely carved hexagonal wood frame is decorated with a beaded band around its base, rosettes in the center, and a top band which helps introduce the ten twisted Iron arms. The ten arms flank the tapered central fut which displays an array of pressed metal floral decorations around its base. Each arm is tastefully decorated by patinated pressed metal candle cups with foliate pendants below. Five of the candle cups include swaging beaded floral garlands which lead upwards to the colorful top crown. The hexagonal top crown is similar to the base and has a dentil patterned bowl with pressed metal colorful floral flowers. All original patination throughout.
