Large Antique Vintage Church Opaline Milk White Glass Ceiling Pendant Light Lamp
About the Item
- A beautiful and all original church opaline pendant light with gallery, English circa 1930.
- Tremendous bulbous shape to the opaline, wear commensurate with age, all in excellent condition.
- Height 45cm, Width 35cm, Depth 35cm.
- Rewired with dark brown braided flex and PAT tested.
Opaline Glass Opaline is a form of decorative glassware which was made throughout the 19th century, manufacture was predominantly French, although it was inspired by Venetian Milk Glass, and White Glass produced in Bristol. The popularity of Opaline glass began during the reign of Napoleon and various locations across in England were involved in their production. The opaline glass is characterised by a bright white colour, the high lead content defined it as crystal like, giving it jewel-like qualities across its appearance.
