Stunning mineral stone pendant with wonderful colors in a unique brass frame. The designer and artist who created this Arts & Crafts work of lighting art must have been inspired by the wonderful colors that mother nature has to offer in the late afternoons and evenings in the summer. Especially the copper red light that the sun creates when disappearing under the horizon seems the source of inspiration for this artist. With the colors in this particular alabaster shade AND in the brass 'frame' corresponding with the marvelous colors at sundown this one of a kind pendant really is a joy to own and to look at. In our experience it is also at that time of day that swallows are the most active. Just like the embossed swallows in this shade we too have seen them circling above and around a swimming pool in the Canary Islands. By the way, the workmanship that has gone into hand-crafting this remarkable chandelier is of a level that you don't find anymore in this day and age. Never mind the amount of time it must have taken to first hand-draw and then completely hand-craft this gem. We have said it many times before and we will say it again here: both with the light switched on and off, the colors in this alabaster shade are much warmer and much more beautiful than in our photos. Top quality alabaster shade pendant with deeply hand carved grapevines all around. Thanks to its good size, its unique handcarved design and extremely good condition this alabaster chandelier is bound to light up both your days and evenings. If you look closely then you will realize that these grapevines are not only the most deeply carved you will have ever seen, they also have been hand-carved with a technique that is called "(we cannot find the name for it yet)". Most of us are unable to handcarve anything half-decent, but the artisan whom created this work-of-art-light-fixture took it to another level alltogether. Some chances you only get once in your lifetime and that is exactly what we thought when we first saw this marvelous Arts and Crafts era pendant. The six hand carved arms are like stems of flowers growing out of the base of this chandelier and the perfect (both design and condition-wise) alabaster shades are like stylized blooming flowers. Just like the six mint arms, the monumental and mint circular 'base' too is all hand-crafted and hand carved out of soilid oak and with a stunning row of large oak beads between the top and bottom section.
