Mid-Century 6-light brass and crystal chandelier attributed to Sciolari 1960s Intact and in good condition, E14 lamps. Length of the chandelier only 44 cm (including the chain 94 cm). Biografia di Gaetano Sciolari Sciolari Gaetano (1927-1994) Gaetano Sciolari è stato un designer italiano. Si laureò presso la facoltà di Architettura ed iniziò la sua formazione come direttore di film. Dopo la morte del padre prese in mano l’azienda della sua famiglia e dopo alcuni anni, ingrandì il loro mercato. Sciolari diventò il primo produttore italiano di lampade, vendute negli U.S.A ed il più grande importatore nel mercato dell’illuminazione. Negli anni ’60 si spostò verso forme convenzionali di lampadari e posizionò le rifiniture di raso sul metallo lucido, per ottenere dei buoni effetti ottici. Riuscì a rompere le regole tradizionali, combinando l’ottone con il cromo, per risaltare il meglio di entrambi i metalli. Negli anni ’70 lo stile europeo di Sciolari fu importato in America ed egli divenne anche il primo fondatore e presidente dell’associazione dei produttori italiani di impianti di illuminazione. I produttori di lampade di Sciolari includono Stilnovo, Boulanger e Stilkronen.
