1950's brass and opal glass pendant model K2-20 by Paavo Tynell for Idman Oy Finland
Polished and perforated brass dome shaped shade over mouth blown frosted glass diffuser.
A beautiful refined brass rosette flower detail is featuring on top of the glass diffuser. One of Paavo Tynell recognisable signature details.
Underneath this rosette the 'Idman' manufacturer's signature can be found (see final images).
Manufacturing period mid-1950s.
This pendant was restored with exquisite attention to detail. All parts have been cleaned and polished. No alterations, lamp consists only of all original parts (inclusive original canopy), other than the electricity cable that was replaced for safety reasons.

Paavo Tynell
Paavo Tynell, who was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1890, started his career as a tin- and blacksmith at the company Kory Oy. Simultaneously, he studied at the Helsinki University of Industrial Arts, from which he graduated as a master craftsman in 1913. In 1918, Tynell co-founded the metalwork and lighting company Oy Taito Ab. At first, the company focused mostly on interior and exterior metalwork, such as statues and railings. Later, during the 1930s, Taito also began producing lamps for the lighting sector. Both Alvar Aalto and Kaj Franck would design works for the company.

The flower pot, with its two enameled steel semicircular spheres facing each other, is a brilliant colourful design that was originally designed by Verner Panton in 1968 and named after the flower power movement.
The red painted interiors of lamps provides a warm and unique glowing light that this design is celebrated for.
Fixture is completely rewired with colour matching new fabric covered electric wire exact to the original.
