About the Item
Cesare Toso was a famous Murano blown glass artist known for designing and producing intricate glass chandeliers, particularly those featuring grape clusters and leaf motifs. He was associated with the Toso glassworks in Murano, Italy, and his designs often incorporated handcrafted glass elements like grapes, leaves, and other decorative details, with an iron frame.
This incredible extremely large Murano glass chandelier by Cesare Toso is very rare and truly a piece of art from the late 60's early 70's.. My photographs do not do it justice as the fine details and sheer size were difficult to capture of this massive vintage piece.. The sheer size is astounding at 45" wide and 36" tall and the weight makes this a showpiece in any home.
The chandelier features 9 lights covered with huge various colored Murano glass grape clusters. Each cluster is a different color per light socket. There are also 2 smaller grape clusters at the center of the fixture. These are just decorative and do not cover any lights. This makes 11 grape clusters in total.
There are also dozens of striking glass colored leafs and flowers in shades of green, purple, pink, orange all around with cut designs. The frame of the fixture is made of heavy black iron with the leafs and flowers sort of suspended in air all around on thin wires. They can be moved to suit your desires or space.
All of the grape clusters and leafs are present. The clusters hang on 3 screws and are removable.

The chandelier also comes with the original metal ceiling cap with glass leafs on it as well as black chain.
This is an incredibly rare piece of art made in Italy by master craftsman Cesare Toso from the late 60's early 70's.
The intricate work of the cut gathered grapes, leafs and flowers are a testament to his genius art and talent known all over Europe..
You can view various styles of Cesare Toso's work particularly his grape cluster designs online at multiple venue's or auctions, however, I've only seen one other of this particular style fixture for sale awhile back and is no longer available. The other fixture was being sold in Italy.

- Condition:Repaired: The wire was cut short. A longer wire was added and spliced together. A few of the wires holding up the the grape clusters were reconfigured or modified to fit the screws. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. 3 of the grape bunches have a chip on one of the grapes. It is very hard to see unless inspecting them closely, especially when hung. There are a few chipped ends on a few of the flowers which is very hard to tell because of the busy full nature.
