About the Item

René Roubícek Brass Sputnik chandelier was Designed in the Czech Republic circa 1960. Large brass sputnik chandelier designed by René Roubícek in the Czech Republic circa 1960. The chandelier's intense sculptural form resembles a flash and is Roubicek's core design based on dynamic abstraction. Light gliding on large smoothly polished surfaces while absorbed by the mass of the glass creates a unique atmosphere. Made in brass and glass spikes, this dynamic chandelier is fitted with E14 sockets. The lights are compatible with US/UK/ASIA standards. Also LED compatible. Cleaned and well-wired, in complete working order, and ready to use. The frame is in good condition with minor patina on brass and metal parts. The chandelier can be disassembled, and the glasses can be individually wrapped for easy transport. The rod can be adjusted per chandelier to alter the height required. - Size: 87 x 90 cm - Size: 80 cm Height. - Fitted with E 14 sockets suitable for LED. - The lights are compatible with US/UK/ASIA standards. - Cleaned, well-wired, and ready to use. - We can supply any length chain or rod free of charge. René Roubícek (1922 – 2018) is a Czech glass-working icon. Glass art as an independent art discipline was born in Czechoslovakia, and it was first introduced to the world by Mr. Roubícek well over half a century ago. His spatial and dimensional abstract compositions, combining metal and glass, caused a sensation at the 1958 Expo in Brussels. Subsequently, Roubícek won the Grand Prix Expo award. His work is represented in many prominent galleries worldwide.
