About the Item

A stunning and highly detailed Russian 19th century Neo-Classical st. Crystal, Ormolu, enameled Bronze and Glass chandelier. This most decorative seven light chandelier is centered around a circular fitted cobalt blue glass tier with prism shaped Crystals pendants hanging from the rim. Beginning from the fitted frame of the tier is an elaborate six paneled bowl with swaging Ormolu chains and Crystal garlands below a pierced arched Ormolu gallery. Separating each of the panels are enameled cobalt blue Bronze columns with foliate designs and scrolling Ormolu movements which hold each of the swaging Ormolu chains, and with six exceptional swans above. The bottom bowl houses the seven interior lights and is supported by the stunning central fut with an urn shaped Crystal reserve with gilt and lattice designed Crystal etchings. Above the central reserve of the fut is a small circular tier with two Ormolu bands separated by oval shaped and rosette cut crystals hanging prism shaped Crystal pendants. The top crown is joined to the lower tier by stunning Crystal garlands and is decorated with the same rosette, rectangular, and prism shaped cut Crystal pendants below wonderful large scale Ormolu palmettes.
