WINGS OF PEGASUS, a captivating lighting series echoing the winged form of divine stallion, Pegasus, and the glittering qualities of its constellation.
The collection recalls the story of Pegasus, the offspring of the gorgon Medusa and the sea god Poseidon. Associated with the Muses, the goddesses of the arts and inspiration, Pegasus was said to have created a namesake constellation by striking the ground with its hooves, inspiring the astral expression of the collection.
First created exclusively for the Hermès holiday vitrines in New York, WINGS OF PEGASUS is now available in pendant and sconce iterations as part of the CHRISTOPHER BOOTS collection. Skilfully hand-assembled using gradient natural quartz crystal and brass fittings, each piece expresses the celebrated artisanal practice of CHRISTOPHER BOOTS.
All our lamps can be wired according to each country. If sold to the USA it will be wired for the USA for instance.
The Christopher Boots studio was founded on the principle of “Fiat Lux”: Let there be Light.
Established 11-11-11 through metaphysical and material exploration of quartz crystal, the studio gave birth to creating lighting with a signature aesthetic: exploring relationships between nature, architecture, symbology, geometry, and geology, offering contemporary interpretations of structure, symmetry, and pattern.
All works are handmade with love and care by a diverse team of skilled artisans. Collaborations with glass blowers, bronze foundries, sculptors, metal smiths, and stone masons ensure a commitment to quality, underscoring an investigative sensibility, giving birth to a series of illuminating collections both alluring and unexpectedly visceral.
The studio designs, prototypes, and builds in Melbourne, Australia, honoring traditional elements of form, proportion, and scale, marrying traditional and cutting edge materials with various techniques, creating future collectibles designed for transforming architecture.
The work of the studio has been displayed at Hermès, Rossana Orlandi, National Gallery of Victoria, Parliament House, Cassina, amongst countless private collections in New York, Dubai, Tokyo, Moscow, and Paris.
Collaborating with architects, interior designers, and private clients fuels the dialogue between worlds we all transverse.

Christopher Boots
Christopher Boots is an Australian lighting designer whose love of natural materials shines through in all of his creations. Boots’s contemporary lighting fixtures are made from brass and quartz crystals, giving them an ethereal glow. His designs include spectacular chandeliers and pendant lights, geometric wall lights and sculptural table lamps.
Boots was born in 1979 in Melbourne, Australia. He initially studied linguistics and literature before graduating from the National School of Design in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in industrial design. He apprenticed with pioneering lighting designer Geoffrey Mance and spent several years training in various lighting techniques before developing his unique style.
In 2011, Boots opened the Christopher Boots lighting studio and released his first collection. The studio was founded on the idea of material and metaphysical exploration, combining geometry, symmetry, pattern and symbology. Every piece is made by hand, using both traditional techniques and cutting-edge technology. Boots works with sculptors, ceramicists, glass blowers, coppersmiths and bronze casters to create luminous fixtures.
“I am influenced by nature primarily,” Boots told The Study, “the way nature works and evolves through mathematics, biology and time.” Taking inspiration from nature, many of Boots’s lighting fixtures are modeled after the forms of stalactite, which he describes as “beautiful yet completely haunting.”
Boots’s lighting designs have been showcased at the National Gallery of Victoria, Parliament House in Melbourne, Rossana Orlandi, Hermès in Melbourne and Cassina in Japan.
