About the Item

Remarkable little, 1920s Murano light fixture. One of the reasons why we think we have the best job in the world is that we keep finding beautiful and all handcrafted antiques that we have never seen before. We have sold mouth blown pendants before, but never had we seen one of this size, shape or coloring. The Venetian technique of mouth blowing glass into a metal frame was typical for that region in Italy, but this is the first time that we find one with a largely flat metal frame. This design too is a unique one. For it to still be in such great condition is no surprise when you see how thick this relatively small art glass shade is (see image 13). The beige-yellow and blue color combination also is one we have never seen and both on and off this excellent condition light is an absolute joy to behold. It comes with the perfect brass chain and canopy to go over your junction box. With the hook inside the canopy mounting this light is child's play. With the warm glowy light it radiates, we feel this is the ideal light for an entry hall, a bedroom, a landing or a restroom.
