18th Century Hand-Carved & Painted Italian Candlestick Floor Lamp 'Converted'

About the Item

18th century hand-carved & painted Italian candlestick floor lamp is a beautiful example of Italian carvings influenced by Renaissance and Classical designs. The tripod base features four substantial lions' paw feet, connected to a triangular pyramidal form with fishscale panels and shell motifs. Upon that base is set a multi-tiered shaft with urn forms, acanthus motifs and lotus cups, with an elongated candlesleeve set upon the bobeche to provide height, above which appears a double pull chain medium base (standard size) socket. The hand-painted finish features a two toned effect with a patinaed gold highlighting the carved details for a wonderful Old World effect. Newly electrified with standard wiring, included in the price! Candlestick circa 1790s Measures 71.5 Height x 12 in diameter.
