We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Massive and heavy Empire-style candlestick, electrified to function as a floor lamp; it was made between 1950 and 1955 by a Florence artisan workshop and was made on commission for a noble family in the city, so never put on the market. It was born from the collaboration between the craftsman's workshop and an important and ancient art foundry near Florence; the craftsman designed the different pieces of the candlestick inspired by a rich and elegant Empire style, then delivered the design to the foundry, which made the shapes and cast the components in brass with the expertise and passion of a generation of foundry artists. In fact, in this foundry, with its ancient Renaissance flavor, one can feel the high craftsmanship of the workshop where the works are born in a magical succession of shapes, materials, and colors. The finished pieces were handed back to the skilled Florentine craftsman who chiseled them in an accurate and meticulous manner so as to bring out even the smallest details; all the elements were then gilded with a galvanic bath gilding of excellent quality, the craftsman, before finally assembling all the elements, brushed a burnishing acid to antiquitize the brass surface, over time then also formed an original patina making this object even more precious and aesthetically engaging today. The Florentine master craftsman in his workshop has managed to come up with a unique, precious, and elegant product; "elegant" objects are those that are never associated with the word "glitz" but rather with the simplicity of beauty and elegance. It must be remembered that Florence and Florentine craftsmanship come from afar, bringing with them values that already existed in the Middle Ages and that, thanks to the "Corporazioni "and the enlightened Medici rulers, made the city and its skilled artisans the center of the artistic world and of past and present history. The candlestick was given to the commissioning family who enjoyed it for years in their sumptuous home; it was electrified recently before it was sold at an auction. The item is in good condition, has a beautiful original patina, and has no lampshade.
