Italian Post Modern Floor Lamp design by Perry A. King & S. Mirand for Arteluce

About the Item

A Post Modern floor lamp of great charm, made in Italy by the historic lighting company Arteluce founded in 1939 by Gino Sarfatti. Designed and produced during the 80s, this floor lamp features many of the typical elements of the period and the Memphis style; it has a monumental, almost totemic shape and a micro-striped decoration created via silk-screen printing on glass which recalls the work of Max Baguara for Lamperti, that of Cibic or the unmistakable lines applied by Mario Botta on his Shogun. The model of this Arteluce floor lamp most likely takes its name (Triana) from one of the neighborhoods of Seville, the city of origin of Santiago Miranda, one of the designers who signed this project. Santiago Miranda together with Perry A. King, the designer couple who designed this lamp, have had an interior and graphic design studio in Milan since the end of the 70s, and their work has received many awards and mentions over time in the sector. This floor lamp is a direct light lamp; a black enamelled metal stem supports a passage of light created by 4 overlapping glass shelves, two faces which direct the light created by a halogen lamp upwards. The intensity of the light is adjustable and creates splendid atmospheres thanks to a dimmer that can intensify or dim it. This floor lamp is in good vintage condition, it works, its glass is intact, it shows minimal signs of use and aging only on the base. Reach out for any additional questions.

    By Bruno Gecchelin
    Located in Roma, IT
A slim and elegant floor lamp, designed in 1970 by Bruno Gecchelin for Skypper. The advent of the halogen lamp has revolutionized lighting not only in a technical sense but also in style. The power of the halogen lamp with the possibility of being dimmed has reduced the overall dimensions of the lamps; many bulbs or large light diffusers were no longer needed, therefore the shapes become thinner as in our "Mezza Luna" floor lamp. The 500w halogen lamp is contained in an orientable half-moon in white metal thin and light as a paper origami...
