About the Item

The Kazuki floor lamp, produced in 1975 by the Italian lighting manufacturer Sirrah to a design by the Japanese architect and designer Kazuhide Takahama, present a fresh interpretation of traditional rice paper lamps. Instead of rice paper, Takahama used non-inflammable synthetic stretch-jersey fabric, fitted onto a frame of thin wire. The removable jersey cover is washable and so, unlike rice paper shades, always keeps its good looks. Takahama named the Kazuki lights after his son, as he did with his 1968 Kazuki chair.
