Tizio 35 Terra Floor Lamp Designed by Richard Sapper for Artemide

About the Item

Tizio 35 terra floor lamp designed by richard sapper for artemide, 1971. The tizio lamp was revolutionary! Black, angled, minimalist, and mysterious, the lamp achieved its real commercial success in the early 1980s, when its sleek look met the wall street boom. Found in the residences of the young and successful and in the offices of executives, the lamp has become an icon of high-tech design. What was also groundbreaking back then was that the electricity ran from the base through the metal arms, to the light source no cords needed, apart from the one that runs from the base to the electrical socket. The column base is removable in case you want to use the tizio as a desk lamp. The tizio lamp received several awards: gold medal triennale XV 1974. Prize grand prix triennale XV 1974. Selection compasso d’oro 1979. Gold medal at bio 9 ljubljana 1981.
