Wilmot Castle Articulating Chrome Counterweight Medical Floor Lamp

About the Item

Substantial space age floor lamp with a slightly macabre history. This floor lamp started its life as a surgical operation light for a hospital. Features a heavy lead counterweight that allows for the position of the lampshade to be tilted up and down. Stands at approximately 8ft tall at its highest. The cast-iron base is on casters to make repositioning a simple. We cleaned and restored this piece to be accepted into a 21st century interior. As this is a vintage piece, please expect wear consistent with its age. The chrome is scratched and dinged with minor pitting throughout. The aluminum "shell" that covers the cast iron base has many dings and scratches and imperfections. This all shows the age and exceptional patina of this unique piece. It is also missing an original part that allowed the user to tilt the lampshade from rear handle, meaning that it now needs to be adjusted manually. Height of the lampshade can articulate from 28” - 96” from the ground.
