XXL Space Age Floor Lamp in Nickel-Plated Copper – Iconic Piece from the 1960s
Stunning XXL vintage floor lamp from the 1960s, featuring a sculptural and distinctly modern design. It is composed of six globes in repousséd and nickel-plated copper, arranged asymmetrically around a central chrome steel stem, mounted on a heavy circular base that ensures perfect stability.
Each component of the lamp showcases impressive craftsmanship. The mirror chrome and nickel plating are executed with exceptional care, offering a deep, lustrous finish. Even the smallest visible screws — including those hidden at first glance — are chrome-plated, reflecting the meticulous attention to detail seen in the finest pieces of design.
The globes are fitted with E27 sockets, compatible with standard screw-in bulbs. The electrics have been completely redone, featuring a high-quality braided cord and a convenient foot-operated push button switch for practical, safe use.
The lamp is also fully disassemblable. Each globe features a quick-connect system, allowing for easy assembly/disassembly or the ability to change the lighting orientation (upward or downward) to suit your preferences. The six arms are also detachable, providing great flexibility for installation.
To ensure preservation of the piece, each element is carefully packed:
• 6 individual cotton covers to protect each globe
• Separate packaging for the arms, ensuring safe transport
This rare model was discovered in an original vintage catalog and also appears in the apartment of Lapo Elkann, grandson of Gianni Agnelli and heir to the Fiat dynasty.
