A Beautiful and Lively Lisa Johansson-Papé Ceiling Lamp Model 71-115, Orno 1950s
About the Item
A rare and beautiful ceiling lamp by Finnish designer Lisa Johansson-Papé from the 1950s. An absolute gem harmoniously combining esthetics and functionality. This lamp design was originally intended for spaces with rough activities with the idea that the surrounding wiring decoration has a double function of also protecting the large opal glass shade inside. This specific piece originally came from a Finniah school where playing balls are always a threat to glass lightings. The flower pattern wire decoration in the lamp could also be unique, as we haven't seen it before and it differs from the pattern in the Orno catalogue from 1957 (please see attached photo).
The lamp is quite sizable, yet neutral and comforting and can fit into almost any space or interior, not to mention, if you are looking for a lamp for your indoor basketball or playing court, this one is literally made for that. We can see this lamp in living rooms, large corridors or hallways as well.

- Condition:Rewired: Electric wiring has been changed at one point. Wear consistent with age and use. The lamp is in it's original condition with some paint wear giving it even a nicer vintage patina.
