About the Item
This 1950s two-light flush mount is a perfect embodiment of Mid-Century style, and finding one in such outstanding condition is a rare opportunity.
The frosted glass shade features an exquisitely etched and painted paradise bird in full flight, its elongated tail feathers and outstretched wings sweeping gracefully across the surface. When lit, the design comes alive, the bird appearing to glide in soft, diffused light.
The paradise bird is renowned for its elegance and rarity, the paradise bird has long symbolized beauty, freedom, and the allure of distant, idyllic worlds. In this piece, its presence transforms the fixture from mere lighting into a work of art, carrying a sense of movement and grace that is as timeless as the era it hails from.
Unfortunately we don't know who the designer is, but judging from the pure midcentury design and the quality materials, we feel, this should be by one of the better names in Scandinavian or Italian design. The combination of this flush mount and timeless design with the brass canopy and finial makes it the perfect fixture to complement a mid-century modern living room, office, kitchen area or bedroom. There is a metal hook inside the height adjustable canopy via which you can safely mount this rare fixture tight to your ceiling.
Both with the light on and off this handcrafted work of beauty is an absolute joy to look at and it will perfectly balance your living space. So if you are looking for an original and timeless midcentury fixture, at the best possible price, then this rare midcentury flushmount could be perfect for you(r client). This light will arrive rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well and it will take two of your regular American E26 bulbs of up to 80 watts, easily.

Symbolism of the Eagle in Art Deco: The eagle has been a potent symbol across cultures .. representing strength, clarity of vision, independence, and power. In the Art Deco period, its use reflected a fascination with bold, heroic forms and classical symbolism reimagined through modern geometry. The presence of four eagles, facing outward on each side, adds an architectural rhythm and emphasizes watchfulness and balanc .. making this chandelier not just a source of light, but a profound sculptural object.
Whether placed in a grand hallway, above a dining table, or in a design-forward living space, this chandelier commands attention and speaks to both artistic heritage and timeless taste.
